These positions will be based in strategic locations throughout the United States and on an as needed basis. Our Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Programs (CPR, First Aid and related training) educate healthcare providers, caregivers, and the general public on responding to cardiovascular emergencies, cardiac arrest and stroke. ECC is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention and ensuring greater public access to defibrillation. ECC programs train over 13 million people every year.
The CPR Training Instructor is responsible for the delivery of the ECC training programs to our HeartQuarters Training client. Primary responsibilities include organizing training sessions, providing training in accordance with the American Heart Association guidelines, remediation of students, submission of paperwork and some computer entry after the class within the timelines allotted. This is a part time or as needed position. This position may be required to submit to a drug test based on the American Heart Association's Drug-Free Workplace Policy and the requirements of the client they will be teaching for.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
*Verifies location and times of the courses with HeartQuarters and the client if necessary
*Verifies adequacy of equipment (quantity and functionality)
*Cleans equipment after each use 'Conducts the contracted American Heart Association course(s) according to the guidelines of the American Heart Association
*Provides reasonable remediation to students as needed
*Collects all required paperwork (rosters, course skills testing forms, written exams if needed, and students course evaluations)
*Completes all paperwork after the course as required
*Submits paperwork within time frame allotted (may include some computer data entry)
*Communicates to HeartQuarters any concerns or unusual incidents that may have occurred during the class or client contact
*Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds when working with equipment for setup, storage and cleaning
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and background:
*High School Diploma required, some college preferred
*2+ years as an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED Provider or Instructor (or equivalent from another agency), BLS Healthcare provider or Instructor preferred
*Ability to travel within your area/state of residence. Opportunities may be available for out of state travel (including overnight/multiple nights/weekends)
*Ability to effectively use computer software including MS Office Suite
*Strong presentation skills are required
