We have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Major Gifts in our Phoenix Division.

The Major Gifts Director, in collaboration with key volunteers and staff, will build strong relationships with individual donors and foundations to secure restricted revenue to support the Halle Heart Children's Museum. This is a unique educational center that provides hands on cardiovascular related learning experiences to school children in the Greater Phoenix area.

In addition, the Director will provide leadership and staff support to the Cor Vitea Donor Society to secure unrestricted major gifts necessary to support the association's overall mission to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Responsibilities include: Managing a portfolio of top potential donors and foundations; developing appropriate strategies to achieve fundraising goals including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; developing strong relationships with donors, volunteer leadership, and other staff in territory served. There is a fiscal year revenue goal of $500,000

Qualified applicants will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, public administration, political science or another related discipline
• 3+ years of development, public relations and/or marketing experience. Successful track record of individual giving and grant writing is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in donor/foundation cultivation.
• Demonstrated experience planning/overseeing major projects involving complex membership/development information systems.
• Ability to accomplish results through collaboration and strong positive and professional relationships with volunteers and staff.
• Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, project management and interpersonal skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a results-driven environment.
• Ability to work evenings and travel, including occasional overnight
